and Lynne Shaner
www.eftpraxis.com

This article is available in Spanish. Go to the Spanish translation.

Work and stress. The two go hand in hand for many. Having both come from the corporate workplace initially—Sejual from law, Lynne from institutional publishing – we knew that there was a great need for stress relief in workplaces, as well as other benefits that are so achievable with EFT.

In contrast to one-on-one therapy work, bringing EFT into the corporate environment requires a significantly different approach. We’d like to share our experiences in successfully doing this with three multinational companies: Merck & Co, Parker Hannifin, a large law firm headquartered in Washington DC., and a government body also headquartered in DC.

Primary Focus: Stress Management

As layoffs and tension increase in the current economic climate, stress levels for the remaining staff at all grades have risen to toxic levels. This regularly results in poor performance, absenteeism, increasing health-care costs, and even lost clients and business opportunities. Such blows hit both the owner and management, so continuing the cycle of harm. This is not novel—we all have personal experience of the cost of stress. But dealing effectively with stress is news and corporations need this information.

In our experience, the best way to create helpful change in the workplace is by bringing EFT into the situation, and positioned as part of a stress-management training. We know EFT is a healing technology that provides impressive results before our eyes. This is true in how it works on all the elements of stress that people experience: anxieties, worries, fears, and physical tension melt away when worked on with EFT. With this aim in mind, we’ve succeeded in introducing EFT into the workplace by billing the workshops as Stress Management Training.

In the business world it is culturally permissible to deal with stress. Rather than a sign of weakness, it can be seen as an advantage to the business and employees to deal with stress. It is now well-accepted that stress relief will help deliver performance-efficiencies and so improve profits.

We also speak directly about delivering “peak performance” techniques. This again carries the promise of the possibility of increased profits and fits with business motives and goals. Top achievers are always looking to “up their game.” We’ve avoided presenting ourselves as a therapist to the wounded. This would make them run away from EFT, given that they cannot allow themselves to be seen as weak in public. It is not as if they have no personal problems—we’ve found that these naturally come up. They can however easily be addressed in the privacy and natural safety of follow-on one-to one-sessions.

Typically, we’ve held introductory workshops for groups up to twenty; any more than this and it can be difficult to deliver meaningful results to. We are always paid well for these workshops.

Getting In—How to Open the Doors

Working with corporations sounds like a great idea, but how did we get in? The answer is pretty simple—by using EFT to align ourselves with the end outcome. We both employ the principles of attraction in our work. Given that we both had corporate backgrounds and wanted to serve that field, we worked with EFT and a positive mindset for our own benefits to allow opportunities to naturally arise in an easy way.

Lynne had ongoing friendships with people who were highly placed in firms and institutions on the one hand. She also had a client who had experienced such significant change during his one-on-one work with her that he wanted to bring it to his company. For Merck Pharmaceuticals, Sejual was invited to take part in a health fair in the workplace through networking locally and took it further by asking to run a paid workshop. She was able to work with Parker Hannifin after an impressed client championed her into her firm. The client even helped organize a meeting with the HR department at her company.

In each approach, there was no “formula” or set technique to “get in”—but rather being alive to the opportunities as they showed up in conversations. Sometimes the negotiation and presentation goes on for a long time—in one case a workshop began in discussions one January, was executed in July, and ongoing workshops are being negotiated for this new year. We don’t force conversations or outcomes. Instead we look for ways to engage in sincere and professional discussions that are focused on delivering maximum benefits. Our focus is on serving our clients’ needs.

Stay tuned for Part II – Building Bridges and the Nuts and Bolts of a Corporate Workshop…

by Christine Blanchet
www.eft-liberation.com
Strasbourg, France

This article is available in Spanish. Go to the Spanish translation.

This happened to me at a time when I had been studying EFT for a few years but had been having difficulties convincing the very skeptical French people and I was about to give up the whole idea of being an EFT practitioner. Since then, thankfully, the French are getting rapidly more open to and less wary of techniques like EFT!

This experience with Elaine, my friend’s cat, gave me a reason to pursue my goal, so that’s why I call it Elaine’s gift. At the end of this story you will see that I wasn’t the only one to receive a gift!

I had an appointment to go to a friend Susan’s for tea one day.

When I got there Susan told me that Elaine, their cat was dying and was probably in her last hours. Her husband John was home from work as Elaine had had a fit that morning. She couldn’t breathe as she had cancer that had invaded most of her body (I saw the x rays – quite impressive). They had rushed her off to the vet that morning to have her put to sleep but she had put up such a fuss at going in the car that it had really livened her up, so when the vet agreed upon euthanasia they didn’t have the heart to put her to sleep and they brought her back home.

John and Susan were smiling and friendly but I could sense their tension and grief. They told me they were worried they had acted out of selfishness and they couldn’t tell whether she was in intolerable pain or whether it was the right time to put her to sleep and they were in total confusion.

I automatically thought of EFT but hesitated as I had already touched on the subject at an earlier date and hadn’t really found an opening. But this time I thought, “What the heck, this is a crisis, let’s give it a go!” So I told them I’d been working with this energy tapping thing called EFT and that I had just read an article about that explained how it could work on animals too.

So Susan said “O.K, why not have a go?”

I told her I wouldn’t have to touch Elaine or even see her. She hadn’t been to her favourite place the couch in the sitting room for over a week staying mainly on a cushion under the radiator as she was always cold.
But for two days she had been staying in hiding under the bed behind some boxes. Susan would crouch by the bed and coo at her to comfort her but she seemed to need to be alone. Susan said that it reminded her of when animals know they are going to die.

So, we went to the little sitting room just across the hall from the bedroom I sat down on the couch and I asked Susan to help me make a list of the things Elaine would be feeling (all the pains, discomforts, fears, tensions and emotions). I explained to her that I was going to imagine I was Elaine and that I would then tap on myself for what she could be feeling.

So Susan told me all the things Elaine could be feeling as well as the fact that she hated going in the car and that she really hated having to swallow the pills the vet had prescribed. I also suggested things that would concern John and Susan such as:

Even though “Mummy” and “Daddy” are afraid I’m in pain…
Even though are finding it difficult to let go of me…
Even though they are very sad I’m dying …
Even though they don’t know whether to put me to sleep or not…

…I’m a good cat and Mummy and Daddy love me very much.

While we were writing out this list, Frieda, their other cat came up and kept on meowing and rubbing herself on us wanting attention. She had never come up to me in my previous visits as she likes to stay on her own, but today she was extremely sociable!

When we had finished our list I started to really focus my attention on Elaine and seeing some pictures of cats on the wall, I thought that maybe I could focus on one of the to help me connect further while tapping surrogately. I asked Susan, “Is that one of Elaine?

I had barely finished my sentence when Elaine walked in and lay down at my feet, almost lying on them, as if to say, “O.K. lady, I’m ready, do your stuff!”

Susan and I were both in awe as we had never seen a dying cat go up to a stranger before, let alone lie down at that stranger’s feet!

I immediately started tapping on myself or just simply gently touching the EFT points, going through each item of the list. The atmosphere in the room grew more and more peaceful as I tapped. Susan sat down next to Elaine and stroked her gently and lovingly during the whole procedure. She was really participating fully and smiling gently all the while. All the sadness and distress she had shown previously had disappeared.

When I tapped on Elaine not liking the pills I felt a gripping sensation in my throat and chest so I tapped for, “I really hate those pills!” and “they hurt my throat and chest,” until it went away.

At first, Frieda lay watching the situation on the armrest next to me and at one point she sat up and stared intently at my face for the longest time even when I wasn’t tapping my face. After she kept rubbing against me and Susan demanding cuddles and meowing and she ended up lying in my lap as I continued on tapping.

During the procedure, Elaine looked up at me from time to time. When I had finished tapping I said to Susan, “O.K. we’re done now.” Right at that moment Elaine got up and stretched and went to climb up on the couch next to me, but she couldn’t as she was too weak, so Susan picked her up and placed her next to me. She curled up and fell asleep peacefully.

Finally we left her there to sleep and went to the kitchen for a cup of tea. The atmosphere was much more peaceful and even John, who hadn’t participated as he had work to do, was more relaxed. We chatted and even had a few good laughs!

Before I left we went in to check on Elaine. She was still lying quietly on the couch and her breathing was much more relaxed (John, the skeptic, was the one who pointed this out!).

The next day, Elaine had had another fit so Susan and John once more decided to take her to the vet, but this time they were decided that it was really time to put her to sleep. But they never had to make the decision whether to do so or not because this time Elaine died peacefully in Susan’s arms in the car on their way to the vet’s.

My deepest thanks to Elaine.

Whenever I feel discouraged I can feel her encouraging me to continue.

It was the 8th anniversary of my client’s mother’s passing. My client, Jackie, was missing her mother and the special connection they had. She woke up that day feeling sick – sinus problems and a sore throat.

We decided to do a tapping session around missing her mother.

Even though I miss my mother I love and accept myself anyway.
Even though I miss the special connection I had with my mother…
Even though I miss my mom because she was my biggest fan…

We went through the tapping points then returned for more tapping.

Even though I wish my mother were here so I could share what is going on in my life…
Even though it has been 8 years since my mother’s passing and I still miss her…
Even though it is the 8th anniversary of my mother’s passing and I have this sinus infection and sore throat…

After a couple of rounds of tapping Jackie reported that her throat no longer felt bad. We did a couple more rounds.

Even though my mom is no longer here in the physical no one can take that special connection I had with her away.
Even though my mother is no longer here in the physical I always have my memories of her and our special connection.
Even though my mother is no longer here in the physical I chose to honor that connection with her now.

Her intensity was pretty much gone now and we finished with…

Even though my mother is no longer here in the physical I still love my mom and no one can take that away from me.
Even though my mother is no longer here in the physical it’s okay to miss her and love her.

Jackie then realized how hard she had been on herself, that she had been judging herself for missing that connection with her mother after all these years. She then realized that she expects a lot of herself in general. This was quite revelatory to her and she was able to see how that tendency plays out in other areas of her life.

We ended the session with Jackie feeling much better and more accepting of her feelings.

This article is available in Spanish. Go to the Spanish translation.

I was doing an EFT presentation for a group of about 30 people. A man at the end of the front row had brought along a beautiful yellow lab. The dog was nearly full-grown yet obviously still a puppy, and he was having a very hard time sitting still. The man had to continually calm the dog who clearly wanted to get up and interact with people. The poor dog kept changing positions and straining in one direction and then the other, looking very unhappy.

Part of the way through my presentation, I made a friendly comment to the dog’s owner. He then told us all, “Ziggy is in training to be a seeing-eye dog. I have to bring him to events like this sometimes so he can learn to obey and sit still. He would love to go and meet everybody but he’s got to learn to control his urges when he’s on harness.”

I took a chance and suggested to the group, “Let’s tap for Ziggy! You never know. Maybe it will help.” Some people thought it was a joke, but I guided us all to tap together:

Even though Ziggy is restless and having a hard time, he’s a good boy and we send him love.

Even though Ziggy wants to meet us all, he can calm down… we want him to know that we all love him… he’s a really good boy.

Even though it’s hard for Ziggy to sit still, we’re proud of him…he’s learning… we love him and he’s a good boy.

We tapped the points with words like “restless…. having a hard time…. but we love Ziggy… he’s a good boy”

Lo and behold, before we had finished that one round of tapping, Ziggy had stretched out and gone to sleep! He slept quietly through the rest of my EFT presentation. There were some incredulous expressions around the room, but no one could doubt that the surrogate EFT for Ziggy had really made a difference.

I think people who tap for animals would agree that animals are amazingly open. They receive the benefits of the tapping so easily. Simply tapping on ourselves and voicing what we think the animal may be feeling can often have remarkable results. It is wonderful to have such a gentle way to help relieve stress and restore calm, good feelings for our animal friends.

love,
Betty

I’ve tried tapping on food cravings in the past without success, but recently while tapping I had a bit of an AHA moment, which I thought I’d share in case it might be of use to anyone else.

I’m in the process of changing my diet and it is resulting in some food cravings. The first few days I couldn’t shift the cravings at all with tapping. Then a few days ago I found myself tapping in a different way and it was really effective. I realized that in the past I have been tapping basically with a whole lot of judgment. Even though I’ve been saying the “Even though I’m craving this food I deeply and completely love and accept myself,” the bottom line has been that I don’t accept myself at all – I’m judging myself big time for even having the craving.

What finally shifted the cravings (and so far they haven’t returned!) was total acceptance of the fact that I wanted the foods. I tapped with things like:

Even though I REALLY want to eat X, I give myself permission to crave this food.
Even though I SO want to eat X, I allow myself to dream about eating it.
Even though I REALLY want to eat X, I want to eat a whole bowl and then another one, I give myself permission to want to eat as much as I want.

Then I tapped through the points getting really graphic about exactly what I wanted to eat and how much. In doing so the energy shifted and I realized that the cravings were largely coming from a feeling of being deprived of the particular foods I wanted to eat. When I gave myself permission to really want and crave the foods, that part of me must have no longer felt deprived and so no longer wanted the unhealthy foods I’d been craving.

The power of “and I love and accept myself” is so great, but we really can deceive ourselves at times just saying it and not seeing the judgment we are really feeling.

When people come to work with us on abundance issues in our Emotional Freedom Techniques practices we introduce them to a powerful way of thinking that we’ve called the Incremental Approach.

In our exploration of the Law of Attraction combined with tapping, we have sought to help ourselves and our clients create success in many areas of our lives, i.e. money, career progression, relationships, and health. Time and again we have come back to how for most people abundance is not found at the end of a leprechaun’s rainbow in one skip. Instead it grows cumulatively, rather in the way we as individuals progress through life step by step. In this way, there is no limit to our success, we just keep climbing new ladders of possibility without the risk of falling to the ground.

In this article we’d like to explain:

Why would anyone want to bother with this?
What do we mean by the Incremental Approach?
How do we effectively measure our incremental growth in using the Law of Attraction?
What are the pitfalls that come up when using EFT in this way?
What are the benefits of this approach?

Why would anyone want to bother with this?

Around the world, there is a growing interest in manifesting abundance. Many people have heard about the Law of Attraction. Some are able to learn a few attraction principles in a short amount of time and see big changes in their money reality. In our experience, this is a small minority of people.

Instead, most people who learn about the Law of Attraction find that the idea intuitively makes sense. Yet when it comes to increasing their income, most people do not see the kind of changes that they are wanting. Why?

There are two main reasons for this. First, many people do not understand what limiting beliefs are or know how to clear them. Many readers of this article know about “core issues” and “tail enders” (the hidden, “yeah but” part of an affirmation statement). And, we have a marvelous tool to clear them—EFT.

The second block to progress is that many people try to make changes in steps that are too large. For instance, Paul had a client who was making about $30,000 per year who set the goal of becoming a billionaire within 12 months. She wasn’t making any progress. In fact, her income was actually going down. It was too big a leap and therefore too much stress for her system. In the sessions, we identified more incremental steps ($45,000 per year was the first goal) and she is seeing much better progress.

What do we mean by the Incremental Approach?

Let’s be clear as to what we mean. The Incremental Approach isn’t a new technique or method within EFT. Instead it’s an attitude towards success that is likely to help many newcomers to EFT. Sometimes people are drawn to explore EFT because of the wealth of one-session wonders they first hear of. We’ve come across some of these people in our wanderings with EFT and we hear how they got disenchanted when they didn’t experience their own white unicorn tapping resolution. On forums and in our therapy practices they ask the same question: where are we going wrong?

We too have experienced awe-filled quick clearings individually and with our clients. However, ask any experienced EFTer and they will confirm that in practice these are limited occurrences. After all, human beings are complicated creatures! We build up problems over several years if not a lifetime. In our experience, the “flash in the pan” success that some see with EFT is a wonderful starting point. However, huge sustained success for most EFTers is best fostered by taking a step-by-step approach.

The Incremental Approach is the most convincing way we have found to help our clients achieve significant practical success with the Law of Attraction and EFT, whilst minimizing distress and upheaval.

How do we measure our progress?

The first step is to clarify what the current situation is. Often, there are negative feelings about this. In fact, feelings like worry, shame, and overwhelm are common. These are often some of the first things to tap on.
Then look for goals that feel exciting and achievable. Some recent examples are:

Increase my monthly income by 33% in the next 6 months.
Increase the number of prospects in my business by 100%.
Increase the number of clients paying my full fee by 50%.

Notice that these goals are specific and measurable, and so we’re already clear on the direction we’re going. Once we have a goal, we use EFT to clear negative feelings and limiting beliefs that are blocking progress. And, we use positive tapping techniques to reinforce new patterns that are aligned with the goal.

Jennifer had tried EFT, the Law of Attraction and many other energy tools to improve her real estate business—with no success. When she contacted Paul, they found that she had 1) never been specific about what she was trying to accomplish and 2) never found the core issues that were keeping her stuck. Jennifer identified increasing prospects as her initial goal. She also found that she had internalized many limiting beliefs about women and money from her father. Over several months, Jennifer and Paul cleared these limiting beliefs and aligned Jennifer’s energy with having a more successful business. The first month, her prospects increased 33%, the second month they were up 100% and by the third month Jennifer’s prospects were up over 150%. She then closed the biggest sale of her career – over 3 times bigger than her previous largest sale.

What are the pitfalls that come up when using EFT in this way?

So this step-by-step approach we’ve spoken of seems pretty simple, doesn’t it? In theory it should be. What we have seen in working with individuals who are willing to go down this road of sustained abundance is that there are some pitfalls that require careful handling. We list these pitfalls here. Be aware of what specific events from the past come to mind whilst reading through. You may uncover key incidents from the past to clear and so start getting results in boosting your prosperity levels.

The need for honesty

When people first start this work they normally feel at their lowest ebb. They have tried many ways to resolve their situation but problems like self-sabotage and years of negative thinking mean they feel their problems are insurmountable. It might feel contrary to conventional wisdom to “say it as it is” However, being honest allows you to start clearing the worst of the emotional debris that’s holding you back from feeling better. As we know, with the Law of Attraction it is our feelings that generate what we attract into our lives. After clearing the worst of these negative emotions and events related to abundance, you’re likely to start seeing an improvement.

Sejual worked with “Daniel” who had read countless books on the Law of Attraction. He wondered what he was missing as his results didn’t tally up with how the Law of Attraction was meant to work. He had tried various techniques all aimed at commanding his mind to stay on a positive track. He would achieve some success, but in the end the self-sabotage would trip him up. In a game of snakes (chutes) and ladders he would end up back at square one.

We looked at the negative thoughts and feelings he had been suppressing for more than a decade. Over several sessions we EFTed how he felt about his divorce and a former business partner cheating him. He then started to experience a permanent change in his finances for the better. From these two biggies, Daniel was able to tap on lesser events from his life both with Sejual and by himself to then focus on bringing in an income that would secure his retirement.

Vibrational whiplash

Have you ever been to a weekend workshop where you felt great while you were there but the feeling didn’t last? We have noticed something similar that many people experience when first approaching abundance work.

Fred tried EFT after years of struggling in his bodywork practice. In two sessions, he cleared many limiting beliefs about money learned from his highly religious family. Trying to run a business with these beliefs was like trying to swim with a lead-flotation device. Within a short time, Fred saw a job he was excited about and applied for. He got the job. In fact, he so impressed his interviewers that they hired him for thousands of dollars more than the job had been advertised for. After the first week at the new job, Fred’s energy started to waffle. One day he would show up confident and enthusiastic, the next he felt worried and like an impostor. Soon his new employer let him go.

We developed the term “vibrational whiplash” to describe this phenomenon of feeling a new possibility without being able to consistently live it.

A whiplash is a neck sprain that occurs when your head is suddenly jolted backwards and forwards in a whip-like movement. They are common in car accidents. Trying to jump from a negative state of mind to an extremely positive one is a common mistake in abundance work. It gives a whiplash-like jolt to the emotional self. Going through this cycle again and again is demoralizing. It often leaves people confused, hurting and wondering if the whole idea of using EFT and the Law of Attraction for increasing abundance is just a gimmick. The reason for this shock is that the change in emotion is too drastic to be sustained by your emotional self. How can a person easily go from feeling disempowered to positive eagerness and authentically maintain that? Most people can’t. The contrast is too strong to be easily adjusted to.

An important goal of the Incremental Approach is to avoid this unnecessary pain.

Having a diffused focus

When an outcome really matters to us we get caught up in the story. This is the story of how we have suffered, why we’ve carried this pain, and how we’ve been cheated by possibilities that were out of our hands. When we start tapping on the negative story we can weave in and out of issues without fully clearing anything and that lack of focus means we don’t raise our vibrational level to attract something better. The solution is to work on the specifics to make sure you’re clearing at a deep enough level to stop your focus being too vague.

“Denise” couldn’t leave behind the distress her past brought up and found her emotional chaos was affecting her career progression. She belonged to a social scene of young executives where cocaine use at weekends was the norm. For her, quitting her addiction didn’t require any tapping. However, maintaining her composure was difficult and the hurt she had buried for years came up at work in the shape of panic attacks and crying fits. With the emotional overwhelm coming up Denise couldn’t focus on sorting herself out.

Sejual worked with Denise over 4 sessions to clear specific upsets from her past connected with her relationship with her father and bad treatment from a ex-boyfriend. By identifying the key incidents that were crippling her confidence Denise was able to change the story that was running her life. She was able to deliver great performances in job interviews. Despite problems in her field, with lay offs as a result of the global recession, she secured not one but two offers of work that helped her move up the career ladder.

Getting too caught up in the “formula/process”

When learning to use EFT for abundance, people often get very focused on the wording. In fact, one of the top three most common questions people ask is “What words do I use?”

A big part of the incremental approach is getting the feel of steadily increasing your ability to succeed. The words we use in the EFT sequence are tools to allow us to relax, become more centered and begin to take inspired actions that will increase our success. From this place, the “right” words are different for each person. If you are finding yourself able to better see your situation in a neutral light and can begin to see opportunities for investing your energy in new ways, what you are doing is working.

“Isn’t there a magic wand you can show me?”

From time to time, both Sejual and Paul get contacted from someone who wants to change their financial situation immediately and wonders what the magic bullet option is. In our experience, it doesn’t work this way. Changing your money-reality takes time.

How long does it take? There are four contributing factors to how long it can take:

The amount of negative energy about money and success one has

If we have held limiting beliefs about money for a long time and they are deeply held, it often takes longer for things to change. The approach is the same, it just takes a bit of patience.

The amount of skill the person applying EFT to the situation has

Mechanical EFT does not seem to work well for most people when it comes to abundance issues. In order to achieve success with using EFT for abundance, it’s important to invest some time in learning EFT skills like finding the core issues, understanding how aspects work and learning how to incorporate your intuition into EFT work.

The amount of light-heartedness the person applying EFT can bring

One of the most consistent blocks to abundance are low vibration feelings like worry, despair and fear. If the person applying EFT for abundance has these low vibrations in her or his system, the process doesn’t seem to go well. One of the things we find helps with this is to bring a light heart and a sense of humor to our abundance work. It’s quite remarkable how far a smile can go.

The consistency with which EFT is applied

It’s very tempting to approach EFT for abundance likes it’s a magic wand. While it would be nice if it worked like that, this is not most people’s experience. Instead, we encourage people to keep tapping. In addition to tapping on the limiting beliefs, we also like to have clients use positive forms of tapping to reinforce new patterns of thinking about money and abundance. For example, this can involve positive images of abundance that add to that state of mind. Relaxed, daily tapping 1-3 times a day works best for most people.

What are the benefits of this approach?

There are several benefits to this approach. The first benefit is that it is effective for many people. While we may not always know the how, it’s easier for most people to believe at a deep level that it’s possible to increase their income in a steady manner. Because they can believe it’s possible, they commit to the Incremental Approach and apply EFT in a consistent way.

Second, there is a relief in finding out there is nothing wrong with you if have not had instant success with other abundance programs. Many clients contact us feeling shame and despair after unsuccessfully trying affirmations, vision boards, and other manifesting tools. This approach clears these negative feelings by allowing the understanding that it takes some time to change persistent beliefs and feelings.

Third, it’s fun and healing. Sejual and Paul are believers in having fun throughout the process and successful abundance journeys usually include humor. And, because money comes to us through our relationships with other people, we find that abundance is about more than money. The Incremental Approach to Abundance almost always includes learnings about service, love, and connections with other people.

This article is available in Spanish. Go to the Spanish translation.

I recently did a weight loss class for a group of elementary school teachers in which I taught them EFT. The next week, one of them reported to us on how she had been using tapping with her kindergartners. Each morning the children have a sharing circle to start their day, and their teacher helps them focus on good thoughts and positive feelings. Now she is incorporating a simple version of tapping.

In their sharing circle, the teacher tells the children, “Let’s tell your body to have a peaceful day.” Then she has them tap on the Karate Chop spot and say three times, “I’m going to have a peaceful day.”

Then she tells them, “Let’s tell your mind to have a peaceful day.” She has them tap on the Top of Head and say three times, “I’m going to have a peaceful day.”

The teacher told me she is not sure the whole tapping procedure would be an easy sell to parents or administrators, so she prefers to keep it simple. The version she has created is easy to blend into their morning ritual. She thinks it is releasing stress and helping the kids get a good start to the day. And now they are all familiar with tapping so that if she needs to calm a child, she can say, “let’s tap again to get rid of that anger so you can have a peaceful day.” Then she can guide the upset child in some tapping.

One of the wonderful features of EFT is its flexibility. I often tell people that EFT can be woven seamlessly into whatever approach we already have and that it will simply enhance whatever we are already doing. This teacher seems to have a very gentle and supportive approach in her kindergarten class. It is beautiful to see how she found a way to creatively bring in some EFT, and how this daily dose of tapping is supporting their classroom goal of everyone being able to have a peaceful day.
